Description
Transporter t4 pickup doka syncro 2.5i petrol / LPG youngtimer 4x4 from 2nd owner
After 4 wonderful years I am selling my faithful Volkswagen Transporter.
The bus has proven itself to me as a super reliable and handy companion. The fine combination of the double cabin and a practical and spacious loading space with hood makes it a real all-rounder. And when the road becomes challenging, the Syncro 4wd system ensures that you have to drive very crazy before you get stuck.
I have mainly used the bus as a bus, but the spacious loading space (sleeping in length and width possible) also makes it a very suitable base for an overlander or expedition camper.
The bus has the rock-solid 5-cylinder block with injection and gas installation. The gas tank (70 liters) is placed under the loading bed and is never in the way. Paying for a full tank of gas for the price of a few liters of gasoline remains enjoyable.
Due to its age, you can drive the bus for business purposes at very low additional tax and low monthly costs. Private driving is also possible, you could then remove the gas tank.
I have used it commercially and privately to my complete satisfaction in recent years. We have made beautiful trips to Spain, Italy, Portugal, England with the bus. Surfboards and mountain bikes, everything was possible. Of course it is an old beast after almost 30 years, but the smooth 5 cylinder still makes it a wonderful travel companion.
The bus now has 16 inch steel VW rims with winter tires. There is also a set of 15 inch steel.
In order to keep the bus reliable, I have invested heavily in major maintenance in recent years. The invoices are in my accounting but can largely be viewed.
New clutch and pressure group (preventive)
New brake discs/pads all around
All LPG hoses renewed
New drive shafts front
Wishbone and wheel bearings
New lower sill left and left front wing
New catalytic converter
New end silencer
So there has been a fair investment and that has paid off for me in many enjoyable kilometers +_100,000.
Of course, after almost 30 years there are always some points that could be improved, such as:
The left front wing and right rear door and loading platform have been repainted at some point and that is visible to the critical eye.
The hood still does its job well but the zippers have seen better days,
Here and there are rust spots to be found.
The interior is quite neat for an old van but does show wear and use
Despite these points, the van is still used weekly and the mileage of 312,800 can therefore still increase somewhat.
