Description
This Italian, box-shaped compact executive car is, in fact, a Lancia Integrale in Alfa Romeo clothing.
A factory-built Alfa 155 with the running gear of a Lancia Integrale Delta Evo 2.
The 155 Q4 was the first all-wheel-drive car from Alfa Romeo powered by a Lancia Delta Integrale powertrain, but it kind of drives different. Under the hood, the Alfa Romeo 155 Q4 came with a turbocharged 2-liter 4-cylinder engine good for 190 hp and 297 Nm of torque. All this power was harnessed via a 5-speed manual transmission on an all-wheel-drive platform.
Underneath this really is an Integrale in terms of running gear. It has exactly the same diff setup, viscous coupling in the middle, it has an open diff at the front, and a torsion diff at the back.
Incidentally, if you’re pondering what the Q4 designation stands for, ‘Q’ means quadrifoglio – Italian for four-leaf clover — and was applied to Alfa Romeo’s high-performance models, while the ‘4’ designates four-wheel drive. Simple!
And while it’s obvious to think it drives like a Lancia Delta Integrale, it doesn’t feel anything like its donor. It’s heavier, has much better steering and suspension, and feels secure and stable around the corners despite a noticeable lean.
These carried the World Rally Championship-winning Lancia Integrale torch after the Delta Evo 2 version ceased production in 1993.
Unlike the Integrale, the 155 wasn’t destined for the rally stage though — that wasn’t Alfa Romeo’s territory back then. Instead, the GTA and V6 TI versions were to make an impressive appearance on the circuit — winning the Italian Superturismo Championship, Germany’s DTM, the Spanish Touring Car Championship, and the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) between 1992 and 1994.
Very rare, especially in Black , to find ! ( only 2701 units were built compared to the 4223 units of the Lancia Delta Integrale).
Ofcourse the car comes with complete maintenance history and booklets.
This one we are offering is in a real Collectors condition, everything shows this car was only used in summer, for shows and weekends .The black paintwork is in a very good condition so is the leather sport interior.
